Heaven’s Gate

UFOs, Jesus, meat suits, Ti and Do, Luciferians, the Human Evolutionary Level, spading under, Star Trek . . . oh, and the largest mass suicide ever to take place on American soil. It’s Heaven’s Gate.

Deuteronomy 23:1 I haven’t figured out why Do and some of the other guys thought it was okay to castrate themselves when it clearly states in the bible that if something goes wrong with your testicles or if somehow your dick gets cut off, God does NOT want to see you!

Pedestrian’s article The Heaven’s Gate Website Is Still Active & They Will Send You Video Tapes

This article from The Escondido Grapevine is interesting because it talks, among other stuff, a little bit about how uncomfortable it is that many of Heaven’s Gate’s beliefs were similar to those in mainstream religions.

This article is another one from The Escondido Grapevine and you’re going to want to read through to the bottom and then check out the FLAME WAR between Sawyer and somebody else in the comments!

  1. Dear Anna,
Ann and I are in nine minutes into Heaven’s Gate.
    Enjoying.
You have a great delivery voice and considerable poise.
    You’re really quite good.
Gotta go back to MSNBC audio of the tv news.
We’ll finish up the Gate tomorrow.
Congratulations on your rather “interesting” sort of failure oriented really great ideas-podcast.
Maybe tRump was a good idea to somebody sometime back.
    Holy Moly.
How about the Utopian American Dream? Hmmmmmm.
I cannot explain your focus on failure except as a historian. Stuff happens, eh?

So, regarding this new endeavor, you present a mild enigma, shrouded in a secret, and seen through the fog of a mystery yet to unfold.
I know, all 39 deal; not a good way to start a long journey, unless……da da da da, da da da da…..
Also, I am somewhat curious about whether or not you make your sister andmom and dad listen to these podcasts. I’ll bet Waverly loves them.
Ann is sleeping, and I’ve been left alone at the keyboard of life.
I must confess, I remember this case of 39 dead and the black amorphous dress for all.
It was quite a thing at the time…..but, dismal times seem always to accompany in some ways the good times…..so what? The good, the bad and the out there.
I think that you may have come across Ann Ruhl and her True Crime stories.
So, good night, Anna Roberts, Failure Sleuth.
Oh, I’m sorry about those growths on your ears.
    Is that a Roberts trait?
    Love,
    Jimbo, BS History ’66

    1. Hey, Jim! Thanks so much for listening . . . Glad you like the podcast! I do like your new title for me, “Failure Sleuth.” May have to put that on my business card. HA! I admit that investigating fails, foibles, and fanatics was never a part of my so-called life plan, but I suppose “inspiration” can strike in unexpected and weird ways.

Yes, Waverly and Amy have been great supporters of Failed Utopia, and I’ve got Mom, Dad, Sis, AND the niece and nephews listening! I won’t tell Dad what you said about our adorable ears!

Thanks again for listening, hi to Ann, and keep in touch!
      A

P.S. Yes, I must do an episode on the American Dream!
